Formed in early 2002, Frontiers is comprised of veteran musicians sharing a lifelong love and respect for the music of Journey. Over the past several years, Frontiers has garnered a reputation as being the quintessential Journey experience, and has been one of the best drawing tribute acts in America today. Performing at national venues, festivals, and corporate events in nearly 20 states in 2006-2007, Frontiers is not a concert event, but an experience. Carving out their niche by harnessing the same creative energy that inspired the original Journey lineup to the heights of success, Frontiers has earned rave reviews by embracing the spirit of the songs and making each performance unique. Truly, Frontiers tackles the Journey catalog and makes it their own, from the vocal improvisation of an unchained melody, to the extended jam sessions born from Journey’s acid jazz roots, the band faithfully recreates the Journey concert experience with no equal.
In 2007, Frontiers vocalist Jeremey Hunsicker was approached by Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon to step into the vacant lead singer position in Journey. Jeremey spent a week rehearsing, writing, and breaking bread with the band in their northern California stomping grounds, and was offered the gig by the time he returned home to Virginia. With his first child on the way and a busy career of his own, however, Jeremey and the band eventually agreed that the timing just wasn’t right for this opportunity, and he opted instead to stay close to home to help raise his new son. He brings those experiences with Journey to his return to Frontiers, and 2008 finds the band at the top of their game.
